Colourful Vodka

I am feeling cranky today, so about 5 minutes ago I took matters into my own hands and got the bottle of vodka out of the freezer. No glasses were involved in the event. I can only assume that by the end of this post, I’ll be feeling much happier with life.

Stupid brain.

Look – pretty things!

Colour Pack

You know how I know I’m cranky? I went to pick up my race pack and got cranky because they wouldn’t let me change my tee size. And then I got cranky because they CAN’T SPELL COLOUR.

That’s right world. In Australia, we say COLOUR. Was that so hard? Next thing you know they’ll put a z in it.

Colourz.

Colorz.

Clrz.

Cz.

We’re all going to die.

Me

The evil eyebrow is happening again…

I’m sure the hot hot sun and mess of colour in the morning will make life better. AND I’m also making it my virtual 5km for Kyle’s Crusade, with Lisa at Run Wiki. So you walkers – stick to the left. Got it?

Today’s Moment

Dad saw that vlog:

Your Turn!

Anyone done the Color Run before? Thoughts?
When is alcohol the answer?
Can you spell?

Nice to see someone down there spells correctly!!! :)
I’ve never done a color run, but is that kind of like putting on a T shirt and racing through a paint ball game? Could be exciting. I’d wear goggles, though.
No vodka for me. Boring, I know…just too easy of an #answer4everything I suppose.
Have a great race for Kyle!

We are getting so Americanized, (apparently that is not spelled correctly!). I can’t spell all that well but sure can spell colour:) All the best with the colour (or should I say colour) run, have fun!

I think I may be quoting you but couldn’t say it better myself “Vodka fixes everything. Always.” :=)

Enjoy your coloUr run…. So awesome and all those pretty colours will definitely cheer ya up! Can’t wait to hear about it. Serious runner envy!

The Color(Colour)Run was fun, but there is no time clock and most of the people who are there are doing it for fun. They don’t know the rules of the road, and probably have never run a race before. Think lots of strollers, wagons, walkers, people holding hands forming human chains, walking. Basically, any somewhat competitive runners nightmare, lots of zigging and zagging. And to get covered in color you have to stop and wait in line at the stations. It was fun to do with some non-running friends but definitely don’t expect a PR :)

And I cannot spell, thank goodness for spell check!

      Thanks Andrea!

My crazy running partner decided to challenge me to race a couple of guys in the running group. You’re so right about it being a runner nightmare in terms of racing. In fact, now that I’ve read this, it’s going to be worse than I thought!

  6. Enjoy your Colour Run! Thank you so much for participating in Kyle’s Krusade, I look forward to hearing all about it.

Thanks Lisa. Things didn’t quite go to plan in terms of time (the competition that was supposed to happen didn’t) so I’m going to properly time myself later in the week. It looks like everyone is doing really well so far!

The color run was fun! But the powder was too much for my breathing and I’m ok just doing it the one time ;) it’s definitely an experience!

  8. Good luck on the ColoUr run! I did it last year and it was really fun. Don’t worry, once you are covered in color you will barely be able to see the way color is spelled. LOL

Haha! It definitely covered up the spelling. I’m sure it’s trade-marked. Oddly, I got all uppity about the spelling, but then they put up the Australian flag. I think Joel Madden (our celeb MC) thought we would go nuts. Australians just aren’t like that. We couldn’t give a damn about our flag. So the spelling was more emotionally powerful than the flag. Sorry, random story. I just thought of it.

I actually grew up in Europe so we say colour too. It was one of the few words (besides cheque) that I just can’t kick the habit in the US. It’s all good though. Good luck!

My guess is “The Color Run” is probably trademarked to them (here we have one called “Color Me Rad”, so they probably could not change the spelling on the shirt… but still. That’s kinda weird :( . I hope you have fun doing the race, I’m guessing you do feel a lot better after taking the vodka out of the freezer, hehe.

  11. I agree… If they’re going to hold a colour run in Australia they should spell it right. When in Rome…

I haven’t yet done a color run. I want to and should do it soon before the popularity wears off and they don’t have them anymore.

Absolutely! Oh dear. I care far too much. I have to agree that there isn’t a lot to it other than the novelty. And now there’s a lot of competition. I wonder how long they’ll last?

Alcohol is always the answer and my spelling is atrocious. I haven’t done any color runs, but I would love to in the future. :)
