Happy Wednesday! I think Mental Monday really helped me start off the week with a bang, because despite going nowhere with honours this week, and continuing my irritation with the taper process, I am thoroughly enjoying life at the moment -
As a start, my little blog project is growing, and I am so in love with blogging and the online running/fitness/blogger community. I have more subscribers than ever (go and subscribe, I dare you!), more comments and views than ever before. And I love it! I love waking up each morning to new comments, new blogs to read, new ideas, new interactions on twitter, and connecting with new people all over the world (and in my own backyard
– hint hint for some more comments…).
One of the perks is that this week, I’ve been contacted by a couple of companies wondering if I’d like to try their products.
You Turkey!
Tomorrow, I am looking forward to a delivery from Steggles. They are a chicken and turkey company, and given how much I eat, and how much I love my protein, they wanted to know if I’d be interested in trying something from their new turkey range. My answer (and I’m sorry for the vegetarian cringe here) – hell yes!
I like turkey, and it’s not something that is particularly common or much consumed in Australia. As a great, lean meat, it’s somewhat surprising that we relegate it to an occasional deli meat for sandwiches, or the Christmas table (for the traditionalists!). So tomorrow, I get my delivery, and you can be sure there will be plenty of photos and a recipe up in the next few days.
Team Name
Tonight I headed over to the other side of Sydney with Mr The Rake, where we had dinner with his family.
He wasn’t feeling particularly photogenic,
But he warmed up for trivia, where we names our team ‘team name’ and failed abysmally. Except in one round, where we successfully named 8 of Australia’s top 10 trading partners and managed to score ourselves some drink vouchers.
It was painfully obvious that the Rake and I watch no TV when no-one on our table knew the latest Big Brother evictee, and we couldn’t place the theme song from Downton Abbey.
Instead we laughed inappropriately at the ambulance that had to come and collect one of the old people dancing upstairs.
Search Me
My search terms have been cracking me up this week.
Here are the top search terms that people used to find my blog:
1. In shower with clothes (that’s like watching porn with your eyes closed – why would you look that up?)
2. Metric system distance
3. Healthy Live Chicken (sorry, he’s not for sale)
4. Broke my toe (sucks to be you!)
AND…
5. Why is my garage floor turning pink? (I have no idea, but I really hope you figured out that first world problem)
Bonus Point – someone also did a search on my blog for ‘thong’. Thankfully there were no results!
Today’s Moment
BBQ with Mr The Rake’s family. He cooked kangaroo (I’m a huge fan!) and it’snow warm enough to sit outside on their huge verandah.
Your Turn!
Do you ever go to trivia nights?
What’s something nice that happened to you today?
Are you meat or meatless?

Omg!!! You kill me. I had no idea people actually ate kangaroo! I love meat. Im much more of a poultry and seafood person compared to red meat but I really don’t descriminate! Lol. You guys always look like you’re having quite the time! Love ya lady! Have a great day!!
I tend to be poultry and seafood too. I LOVE fresh seafood. But kangaroo is super lean and delicious.

Good morning Kate
I’m so enjoying reading about your positive moments, I love to know you are feeling joyful.
I’ve had some lovely runs lately as the weather is improving – but am expecting the magpie swooping to begin any minute now – always a bit scary.
Bridget and I started a circuit boxing class last night at the gym. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN.
It seems we both love punching stuff (and each other). In a loving way of course.
Hahaha – inappropriate moments of laughter – your mum & I are masters (mistresses? ) of that.
Go out dancing will be my new motto.
Love you. xxxxx
Haha! Thanks Mardi – I’d forgotten about the magpies. I don’t think they’ll be an issue here, but anyone who reads this will be the first to know
.
Circuit boxing sounds amazing. As for inappropriate laughter…awesome.
I love the search terms people used haha!!! Best of luck to you on your first marathon! I’ll be looking forward to hearing your story after the race!
