All of the things. But mostly sleep.

One of Those Days

Mondays are a crazy, hectic mess of all of the things.

So again, it’s a shortish post – my brain is sad. I am in Canberra, tucked up in bed and ready to sleep!

Canberra is where I cram a week’s worth of work/catch-ups into a day, and still annoy people with my inability to meet up with them. Sorry guys!

Weekend!

After my long run, Mr The Rake decided I needed to eat more.

That’s a GIANT Freddo Frog

At least he cares.

After his eggs and bacon shot, he’s started his own portfolio.

I don’t know what this has to do with running, but why not?

He was feeding the plants.

Aside from these happy snaps, I can report that I

1. Did nothing interesting

2. Procrastinated like a boss

3. Ate a lot of yogurt

4. Drove to Canberra, and continued all of the above

Goodnight

After my long run and a good nap, I still felt like this:

And that’s exactly what I feel like now, so I’m off to bed!

With 49 days until the marathon, can I use training as an excuse to sleep as much as I want?!

Today’s Moment

Today I was in Canberra, and I got to spend my lunch time with a couple of good friends. Hooray for ridiculous conversation :-)

Your Turn!

Are you a Monday person?
What’s your sign that you probably need to eat/go to bed?
What made you smile today? (I check these comments in the morning – so make me smile too, ok?!)

    1) I’m not a Monday person, just because it’s the most hectic work day for me, and now classes are starting too, so I get to cram all the important work stuff into a smaller period of time. yay!
    2) I get really super cranky when I’m tired or hungry- I’m like an infant
3)Coffee being made as soon as I woke up, that generally makes me smile everyday.

I’m one of those weirdos who barely needs any sleep! Food on the other hand is a different story! Haha. When I dont eat enough I get super grumpy, so I always have snacks with me! Sleep well! Xo

  4. I definitely need to sleep more when I’m in the thick of training… it’s real! Hope you are able to rest up and recover. Food, sleep, recovery time, it’s all such a tricky balance in marathon training.

Thanks Laura, that makes me feel better! It’s a fascinating process though – if I didn’t have a zillion other things to do I would happily just give into the sleep thing :-D (and I’ll bet anything you know that feeling).

Im not really a Monday person, but I AM a morning person! I start getting super quiet and snappy when Im hungry. Its really easy to tell. I mean I literally just shut down and sit there until my food arrives lol

Have you always been a morning person, or have you changed over time (this is something that I find weirdly interesting!). Haha I can imagine you at a restaurant silently waiting, unable to speak!

I don’t even know what a Monday is any more. I work 6 days a week. Don’t feel sorry for me, I chose this job and I actually like it. I think sleeping after a run is marvelous. What made me smile was reading blogs. The people I follow are kind of wacky. Some of them any way. I hope you had a good rest. :)

I LOVE that idea! I think he might explode. My extra-curricular activities give him headaches just trying to work out where I am on a given day! Somewhere on your blog you wrote about pop-tarts. I haven’t had those for years. Oh I want them!

  8. My Mondays are crazy too. Long run days are pretty much a wash for me. By the time I finish the run and nap it is well into the afternoon. Then I have to remind myself that at least I did something – I ran.
P.S.- Stop taking pictures of chocolate frogs… makes me hungry.

Never! Chocolate frogs are the best thing ever – I just grabbed one out of the cupboard (Dad bought some tonight, randomly!) and it made me think of you. I don’t think that was the point, but you will now be forever linked to my frog habit.
