No-one can be on the go all of the time, so what happens when we are forced to sit still for awhile? I’m not talking about an out-for-six-months-injury; more the stuck-in-the-car or at-an-all-day-conference problem.
The perfect opportunity to contemplate this arose while I was doing my twice weekly Canberra-Sydney drive on Wednesday. It’s a three hour trip, and there’s nothing particularly special or complex about it. You put your foot on the accelerator and you go.
As a side note, there are a few things that people don’t tell you before you begin training for your first marathon. One of the more recent ones I’ve discovered is a constant backside ache. Being forced to sit for three hours in one position is not fun times!
